Fatso’s Pizza – Review

Nothing could more accurately describe Fatso’s Pizza than to say it’s an old-school neighborhood pizza place.
Situated in a shopping center at 32nd street and Thunderbird, as we stepped in for dinner I couldn’t help feeling I’d stepped back in time 20 or 30 years.
The dark, wooden walls are adorned with sports memorabilia, a bar is in the back and Space Invaders-era video games stand near the restrooms. A pinball machine would have cinched the illusion that I’d traveled back in time.
The staff and patrons seemed friendly and bar was obviously populated with “regulars.”. On weekends they have a live band and on Thursdays some form of open mike night. A friendly, neighborhood place.
In a concession to the 21st century they also have free wi-fi.
The pizza was pretty ordinary. Cheese and sauce were unremarkable. The pepperoni was fine but very greasy. The thin crust was a little soft and cut square which was a bit of a problem eating the greasy, floppy center “edgeless” pieces.
While I’m not going to recommend the pizza as anything special it’s a nice place for a casual family meal.
12″ pepperoni $9.65 or $0.09 / sq inch (0.085)
(Sausage is $0.20 more)
