The Pizza Locust

Pizza Week ‘07 is winding down. On Tuesday, I double-pizzed the day and so, technically, I’m one pizza ahead of schedule coming into the weekend. I was contemplating taking a “day off” when, happenstance has it, my family and I were on “that side of town” and I decided to make a family visit to Patsy Grimaldi’s. Grimaldi’s has not only been the highlight of Pizza Week so far, but it’s been probably the best pizza I’ve had in a long time in this town.

I did not remember that this weekend was the Parada Del Sol which closed down Scottsdale and left the streets packed with pedestrians. Still, it was around 2:00 on the afternoon and we were able to get in. This is not a full review, but I will say that we had two good tasting pizzas, but both of them were undercooked.

I also overheard someone else at a nearby table who appeared to be regulars comment that their pizza was substandard today, also.

Also, today I had sausage & pepperoni and I can say I like their sausage better than their pepperoni.

One very nice touch, they brought raw pizza dough out to the kids for them to play with.
