Ray’s Pizza – Review – might be Famous Ray’s Pizza

Is it Ray’s Pizza, Famous Ray’s Pizza or Ray’s Famous Pizza? That’s a question this review isn’t going to answer.
The local flavor of Ray’s Pizza has been around Phoenix for quite some time, but it’s been years since I’ve eaten here. Ray’s operates about 10 locations around the valley and has won several “best of Phoenix” awards between 1993 and 2001. That just goes to show how sad the state of pizza in Phoenix really was.
Our review pizza was at their location in the Happy Valley Towne Center.
The approximately 14″ pepperoni pizza (exact sizes aren’t listed) arrived positively awash in grease.
Underneath Lake Grease was a layer of pre-packaged, supermarket-quality pepperoni, layers on unremarkable cheese, sauce and a dry, undercooked, rather flavorless crust.
Now I remember why I haven’t eaten in Ray’s for 15-20 years.

They opened a new location in East Mesa and we had never heard of it. We are always willing to try new places and give them a shot….well, forget this one! We waited 40 minutes for a pizza to take out and it was luke warm and oily. The pizza’s taste was “fair” at best and certainly NOT worth the high prices that they charge. Add to this the rude demeanor of the lady taking orders and cashiering, and it makes for a bad adventure. When she handed us the take out box, I opened it and told her that it was not hot. She said that “it’s not that bad” but was really rude and explained that the guy that made the pizza was new and had never made this kind before (thin crust). AVOID THIS PLACE!

Got pizza at signal butte rays, and it was undercooked. The pizza was flimsy and full of grease. I told manager I wanted my money back and he complied with a huge attitude, telling me “you’re not welcome back anymore!” I told him screw you and he started swearing at me in front of little kids and family in the restaurant. Unbelievable! That place is rediculous!!!

the guy that runs the place is a sh-t heel, his pizza is no way near ny rays quality and he talks to the female employees there with no respect i told him that and he said get out dont come back he would never make it with that attitude in my old neighborhood,so i will find somewhere else to go
