Angie & Jimmie’s Italian Pizza – Review

Angie & Jimmie’s Pizza

Angie & Jimmie’s has one of my favorite pizzas.

It may not be the best pizza I’ve ever had, but it’s darn consistent, tasty, New York style pizza and it’s cheap!. The pizza pictured here is a “mini”, which measures an odd 8″X10″ at only $3.35 or a phenomenal $0.05 per square inch!

If I had one complaint about this pizza, it would be that the crust around the edge is too big, otherwise I strongly recommend it.

Don’t come to Angie & Jimmie’s for the ambience, though. It’s a dump. It looks like it hasn’t been cleaned since Elvis died. Speaking of Elvis, that’s the only decocations on the wall – a few velvet paintings of the The King that you’d find on a street corner. There are several tables surrounded by plastic Rubbermaid patio chairs, a couple video games and not much else except hundreds of pizza boxes stacked against the walls.

They also don’t seem to enforce the city-wide ban on smoking in the restaurant, which doesn’t make them very family-friendly.

To make the place less family-friendly, they’re right between a porn shop and a Circle K, both of which guarantee that the mumbling, homeless zombies are always milling around outside at night.

While we’re airing problems, don’t look up the health violations at Maricopa County’s website before you eat there – it might talk you out of a good pizza. I looked once and couldn’t eat there for a few months, but have decided what i don’t know probably won’t hurt me – I have eaten food off carts in Taiwan, so I shouldn’t be afraid of anything.

On the up side, the pizza is good. It’s obviously a family-run business and they’re always friendly and helpful. Their sandwiches are also enormous and economical.

Cost per square inch: $0.05
Conclusion: Recommended
